We’ve already introduced you to one of the more medically driven chemicals found in cannabis, CBD, and now we’re going to shine some light on the taboo Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC for short.
CBD doesn’t contain the chemical compounds to induce a mental high but THC sure as hell does. THC attaches to the cannabinoid receptors found in certain areas of the brain and activates them (1). This activation process affects a person’s sense of pleasure, memory, physiological and physical mechanics; the higher the dosage, the greater the effects. Unlike CBD, THC is typically consumed via inhalation using a joint, bowl, bong, blunt, rig, apple (we can go on for hours, but you get the picture ?).
THC has gotten a bad rep for decades, but public opinion of this chemical has been shifting positively given changes in legislation within these last few years legalizing marijuana in more states and countries alike. Keep in mind, there are over 100 cannabinoids identified in cannabis, so CBD and THC are far from being all that lies within this miraculous plant.
Happy New Year readers! We will be bringing more and more content to CBD Social Network for your eyeballs so get connected and get your cannabis on!
